Play a book with one tap. ListenUp downloads it in the background so it's ready offline, and looks after the space for you.
Playing a book is as simple as tapping Play. Behind the scenes, ListenUp downloads and saves the file to your device, so the next time you open that book it starts instantly, and plays even with no connection.
Downloading for offline#
Next to each book’s Play button is a download control that shows the book’s download status. Once the book is fully downloaded, it turns into a delete button.
If you delete a download and then play the book again, ListenUp takes the hint: it assumes you’d rather not keep that one on your device, so it streams it instead of silently re-downloading. Want it offline again? Just tap the download icon.
Heading somewhere without a connection? Download what you want to hear first. Anything already on your device plays fully offline.
Managing storage#
The Storage page shows how much space ListenUp is using and lists every book currently downloaded to your device, and you can delete downloads from there too.
- Android: open it from the profile dropdown.
- iOS: open it from the link on your profile page.
When you finish a book#
Finish a book and ListenUp removes its download automatically, freeing up space for your next listen.
